Meet the Beekeeper

Hi, I'm Tom, founder of Band of Bees  and, as you might have guessed, I'm a little bit obsessed with bees.

Beekeeping has been part of my family for generations, and Band of Bees grew from a simple idea,  to create something tangible that brings businesses, their people and nature closer together. Sustainability you can see, experience and be part of.

There's something pretty incredible about opening a hive and seeing tens of thousands of bees all working together. Honey bees are amazing pollinators too, playing an important role in our environment and helping to pollinate many of the plants and crops we depend on.

I wanted more people to experience that world for themselves without everyone having to become a beekeeper!

That's where Band of Bees comes in. We bring fully managed beehives directly to workplaces and take care of everything  from installing your colony and regular inspections to keeping your bees healthy and preparing them for winter.

Your team can be as involved as they like. Watch from a safe distance, or get a bee suit on, open the hive with us and see if you can spot the queen amongst thousands of workers. Trust me, it's much more interesting than another afternoon behind a desk.

And of course, there's the honey.

When your bees produce a surplus, we'll harvest and bottle your very own honey. There's something rather special about tasting honey made by thousands of bees that leave your workplace every morning and return carrying nectar gathered from the surrounding area.

For me, Band of Bees is about more than putting a hive outside an office. It's about doing something positive, getting people talking, bringing a little more nature into the working day and creating an environmental initiative people can actually see, touch, taste and be part of.

And if we produce a few more bee enthusiasts along the way, even better.
